You will also get a chance to volunteer at Save Vietnam's Wildlife, a wildlife organization that is performing wildlife rescue, education and outreach, and conservation research. Save Vietnam's Wildlife has a mission to stop extinction and champion the recovery of threatened species in Vietnam.

Itinerary.The trip departs between March 14-16, 2019 (departure day is not set in order to obtain the best airfare) from Honolulu, Hawaii (contact us to get a quote for other departure cities) to Hanoi. The trip will begin with a overnight boat cruise through Halong bay, a spectacular seascape of hundreds of limestone islands. During the cruise, there will be opportunities to explore a limestone cave, kayak, swim, squid fish, or take a taichi or cooking lesson.
After Halong, we will head to the Cuc Phuong National Park to volunteer at Save Vietnam's Wildlife. Volunteers will get a chance to see and work with some Vietnam's rarest species. Daily tasks include food prep and feeding, enclosure maintenance and cleaning, and environment enrichment. |

Next we will head to nearby Tam Coc to enjoy relaxing village life with a scenic boat ride between limestone cliffs, bicycle ride past lush rice paddies, hike up the mountain for 360 views of the valley, and visit charming pagoda. The last day of the trip will be in Hanoi for a walking tour of the city and shopping, all while eating our way through Hanoi's amazing street food scene. We will fly back to Honolulu, Hawaii (or other departure city) between March 25-26, 2019.
Costs and what's included.
Trip Cost: $2,600 - $3,000 (contact us to get a quote for other departure cities).
Scholarship: Apply to win a $300 scholarship essay contest to be applied to the cost of the trip.
Airfare: Airfare from Honolulu, Hawaii (or other departure city) to Hanoi, Vietnam and back is included in the trip costs.
Accommodations: Accommodations are included in the trip costs. Accommodations are dorm room style at hostels, guesthouses, or cabins on the cruise and are included in the trip costs. Hostels generally have free wifi however there is no wifi while on the cruise.
Food: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner during the trip are included everyday while in Vietnam. One beverage (limited selection) per meal and water throughout the day is included. Any snacks, additional or alcoholic drinks, and meals en route to and from Vietnam are not included.
Transportation: Transportation to and from the airports in Vietnam and between cities is included. Transportation to and from the Honolulu airport (or other departure airports) is not included. Transportation for volunteering and planned sightseeing activities are included in the trip costs. Any transportation during optional activities is not included.
Activities: Entrance fees for the planned sightseeing outings listed in the itinerary are included. Any optional activities trip participants elect to participate in are not included.
Others: A $100 donation to the volunteer organization and travel insurance for the duration of the trip is also included.
